    Winemaker Notes

The grapes for the 2019 Dry Creek Zinfandel came from three Dry Creek Valley vineyards. 60% came from family cousin Matt Kreck, 37% came from the Mill Creek Winery estate Hillside, and 3% came from the vineyards of Ray Teldeschi. As most Mill Creek followers know, Dry Creek Valley is renowned as California's premier Zinfandel producing appellation.

Harvesting for this Zinfandel begins before dawn when overnight temperatures are lowest. Immediately upon delivery to the winery, the grape clusters are de-stemmed and the berries transferred to a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank where they are cold soaked for about four days before being inoculated with yeast to begin fermentation, which can take up to two weeks. Following pressing, the new wine is moved to oak barrels for 18 months aging.

    Tasting Notes

The nose of this Zinfandel shows Bing Cherry and tobacco with a hint of butterscotch. The taste is of bold spice and Bing Cherry. The finish is long and has lingering pepper and spice. Try with a braised meats, or tri-tip in a teriyaki marinade.

Our 2012 4739 Dessert Wine is made from Estate Merlot grapes. The 4739 name is taken from our bonded winery number.  Although we can not label it Port because of an agreement between the United States and the European Union, it is made in a port style being fortified with Brandy.

    TASTING NOTES

This fruit-forward wine presents a captivating nose of ripe and dried red fruit. On the palate, the flavors unfold harmoniously, offering juicy notes of ripe, strawberry & plum fruit complemented by subtle undertones of earth, mushrooms, and black tea. The interplay of fruit and earthiness achieves a delicate balance, making this wine an ideal pairing for both elegant dinners and casual gatherings.

    WINEMAKER NOTES

Our 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon grows on our Chalk Hill vineyard in Alexander Valley, the home of Bill an Yvonne Kreck . This 44 acre ranch is ideal for producing the high quality fruit that will become our Reserve Cabernet. The fruit was hand harvested on September 27, 2017 and delivered to our winery in southern Dry Creek Valley. Clusters were gently de-stemmed and fermented in small tanks over a period of 14 days. The skins and seeds were punched-down 3 times a day to ensure exceptional extraction of flavors, color and tannins form the skins. After pressing, the wine was moved to French Oak barrels and aged for approximately 22 months.

    TASTING NOTES

Our 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the exceptional terrior of the Alexander Valley. The bouquet captivates with intriguing aromas of bing cherry, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla, imparted by aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, this wine doesn't disappoint with flavors of moderate dried spice that transition seamlessly into a long, elegant finish with just a touch of sumptuous caramel and brown sugar. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for many years.

For a harmonious dining experience, we recommend enjoying our 2017 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon alongside meals such as a succulent prime rib seasoned with rosemary and garlic, a rich blue cheese-stuffed filet mignon, or a classic osso buco. These dishes beautifully echo the wine's bing cherry and spice notes while complementing its long, caramel-tinged finish.
